12Sheepdog 113: Kataklysmos refers to great destruction by water (cataclysm), the ancient global flood event
William Lane Craig of Reasonable Faith stated “For millennia men have wondered whether the world as we know it will come to an end and if so, how the world will end. In ancient Judaism speculation about the world’s end took the form of apocalypticism, the view that God will bring about the end of human history, exercising judgement upon the life of every person, and inaugurating His everlasting Kingdom. This apocalyptic viewpoint was taken up into early Christianity through its founder Jesus of Nazareth. The early Christians looked forward to the return of Christ at some unknown time in the future when he would inaugurate a new heaven and a new earth fit for eternal habitation.”
Kataklysmos is Greek for deluge; great destruction by water, as in cataclysm. The cataclysm or global flood was the first mass extinction event, despite the protests of leftist politics and evolutionist philosophy. The world was once greatly destroyed by water (kataklysmos), and it is reserved until the appointed time to be greatly destroyed by fire (holokaustos).
Genesis 1:2 gives the first appearance of the Holy Spirit of God. It reveals the creation out of water. Evolutionism, as we learned in school, teaches that the world was made from fire over billions of years.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Genesis reveals surprising details of ancient world climate. These images provide the basis for the bubble vapor or canopy theory.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Early in Genesis we read of the origins story for Nephilim, a variety of super-humans, giants, demigods, and men of renown. Giants of that nature are common throughout the Bible, as well as mythological accounts, extra-biblical stories, and non-Judeo-Christian culture legends.
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The Nephilim (giants) and human-demonic sexual mixing was a major cause of the global flood judgment. The ESV reads that (v5) “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.”
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
The destructive waters came up from the broken vaults of the deep, and down from the fallen canopy vapor.
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
Ararat is a location (mountains of Armenia near Turkey) that will be mentioned again toward the middle-end of this paper. Genesis 8:2-4 tells the end of the flood. Probable sources that have combined to hide and/or partially eroded the Ark remnants: avalanches, bandits, vandals, carbon dioxide, earthquakes, falling rocks, lightning, weather, and government cover-up. The Ararat anomaly refers to a conspiracy indicating satellite photography of the Ararat ark ruins.
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
The rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with life that He will not destroy the world with water again. During the Holokaustos, God will judge and destroy the world with fire. Ironically, the homosexual agenda rainbow flag is missing a color (seventh stripe). Many of us learned ROY G. BIV in school (red, orange, yellow; green; blue, indigo, violet).
A review of the ancient global flood event has descriptive and predictive value for prophetic case-making evangelism. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of man (Luke 17:26).
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
“Merry” implies that folks were partying and having a good time, not expecting a great and sudden Big Danger. The New Testament has a critical passage relating the kataklysmos and holokaustos. The first half will be examined for this katalysmos conclusion, and the second half to lead in the holokaustos introduction.
The last days prophecy is that there will be many who are willfully ignorant of creation. They will forget that the world was formed from water, and was destroyed by water.
2 Peter 3:3-7
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
